BODY hurts from sitting in chair, editing videos.
I’VE GOT THE COOLEST VIDEO TO SHARE but i will wait to post it next week
I firmly believe that sitting in a chair for long periods is one of the worst things you can do
i am pretty sure smoking is less harmful than sitting in a chair
0 evidence to back this up, based purely on a feeling
ever since i installed the app blocker on my phone, which allows me to only look at apps for 5 mins at a time, the stranger the apps seem
when i look at them, it feels like my friends are “trapped” in them. and like Instagram is separate than twitter.
are you guys trapped in there? are you stuck inside twitter?
am i stuck in substack?
that has been a weird thing, since my friends have gotten more and more spread out, geographically… feels like they live inside my phone
when scott and i were long distance, it felt like i had a boyfriend who lived inside my phone
here is how scott and i met: in 2011, i was asked to do a reading at Book Thug Nation in Williamsburg. A man named Scott McClanahan was doing the reading too. I really liked his reading and thought he was a strange man in a strange suit and I asked him if I could interview him for Electric Literature and he said yes.
I bought his books, he sold me 2 for $5 but i accidentally gave him $4
he thought i shorted him on purpose but it was a mistake.
Later, I interviewed him, and then I saw him a few months later at Franklin Park
Sometimes we talked on Facebook
Then a while later I moved back to San Diego and got a job at my friend’s family’s hot dog stand and sometimes Scott would call me while I was working and I thought it was weird. I thought he was still married but he wasn’t. I thought it was weird also because Scott only had a landline.
Then a few months later I had The Great Manic Episode of 2013, which made me call/email/text people maniacally.
One of those people was Scott
Scott was newly divorced and on a suicide mission but first he was going to bankrupt himself.
He paid for me to fly to him in Philidelphia where he was doing a reading.
I was not doing well and was vomiting a lot. Scott was not doing well and was vomiting a lot, too, but his was from alcoholism. I don’t know why I was vomiting a lot, I just was.
We went to the Mutter Museum and couldn’t eat.
Then we went to NYC at the same time and I left early to go have romantic relations with another guy
Then a couple months later I flew to WV and that is where our romance began.
We got fake engaged a few months into our dating and one time were running around NYC to find a place that was still open to buy an engagement ring but nowhere was open.
We didn’t officially get engaged until a few months after that; we’d been dating for 8ish months and that seemed fairly reasonable
my mom cried (happy) when I told her we were engaged.
We got married in July 2014, by the newly ordained Sunny Katz, at my mom’s friend’s house in Del Mar, CA and then we drove to WV and lived happily ever after
Vomiting is rarely featured in romance narratives -- I think that may be the glue of you two.
I love you guys!!!!!
